Privacy policy
Last updated · August 2026
Lapel exists to show you clothes on your own photo. That only works if you trust us with that photo, so this policy is written to be read, not skimmed past.
What we collect
- Your account — the email address you sign in with.
- Your photos — the full-body photo you provide, and photos of garments you add to your closet.
- Your closet — the garments, labels, looks and outfit logs you create in the app.
What we use it for
Your photos are processed to generate your try-on images, and for nothing else. Garment photos are analysed to label them automatically. That is the entire list.
We do not:
- show ads, or share your data with advertisers — there are none;
- sell your data to anyone, for any purpose;
- use your photos to train models;
- collect data the product doesn’t need to function.
Where it lives
Your data is stored with our hosting providers and sent to our image-generation provider only for the seconds it takes to render a try-on. Providers act on our instructions and cannot use your data for their own purposes.
Deletion — immediate and real
Delete your account in the app (Settings → Delete my data) and everything goes — photos, garments, looks, logs. Immediately and permanently, not “within 30 days”, and not a soft flag on a row in a database. Deletion is genuinely irreversible.
Export
You can export everything Lapel stores about you from inside the app, at any time, without asking anyone.
Payments
Subscriptions are processed by Apple. We never see your payment details.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we’ll say so in the app before the change takes effect — not bury it here and hope.
